I always thought I was going to do this as a live album. The songs are powerful and live-oriented. The opportunity never arose, however, so into the studio I went. I was back on Narada for this one, which was great. Don did some incredible brass arrangements, which added a real excitement to the record. This was my first opportunity to use my new friends John Wakefield on percussion, and Ric Craig on drums. They were great and brought a terrific energy to the record. I had some wonderful guest vocalists, also. My favorite tracks are ‘Inshallah,’ ‘Road to Zanzibar,’ ‘Jewels of the Night,’ and the title track.
