10 Tracks, 1990
This was my first crack at a ‘concept’ album. Being raised on The Beatles, Yes, Emerson, Lake & Palmer and other progressive bands, I guess it was bound to happen. Though it’s a loose concept, I wanted it to be a sort of travelogue around the earth and the cosmos. Something seemed to coalesce for me as a composer on this recording. I think the ‘epic’ quality of my style came more into focus for me. It was also my first #1 record. A couple of songs that still stand up well to me are ‘The Great Wall,’ ‘Rumours of Egypt’ and ‘Explorers,’ my longest song to date, which I dedicated to the Challenger crew.
